BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS has unveiled live display photos of their high-end Gundam finished product, the METAL STRUCTURE Kaitai Shoki "RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (AEUG Ver.)", at the "Tokyo Toy Show 2026". A large dedicated exhibition area was set up within the Gundam section of the BANDAI and BANDAI SPIRITS booths, showcasing both the armed standing pose and the full maintenance form with its armor extensively deployed. The public exhibition is scheduled for August 29-30, 2026, at West Exhibition Hall 4 of Tokyo Big Sight.
Previously introduced, the METAL STRUCTURE Kaitai Shoki RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (AEUG Ver.) is meticulously reconstructed from over 2,500 parts, creating a massive finished product that stands approximately 31 cm tall and encapsulates its external armor, movable frame, and intricate internal mechanical structures.
The newly released photos of the armed pose offer a close-up view of the mobile suit's imposing silhouette, wielding its long-range weaponry and shield. Its off-white armor is adorned with intricate AEUG and Argama fleet markings, alongside detailed warning labels. Miniature figures positioned at its feet further emphasize the colossal scale of the mobile suit.
Another display showcases the Gundam Mk-II in its "Full Maintenance Form," utilizing the dedicated display base included with the product. In this configuration, various armor panels across its body are extensively opened, the chest section is raised to reveal the cockpit and internal structures, and parts like the head camera illuminate with green lights. Combined with maintenance manipulator arms, work platforms, cables, and multiple miniature figures, the scene vividly depicts the Gundam Mk-II undergoing maintenance in a hangar bay.
Furthermore, the shield is displayed separately next to the base, and the entire Kaitai Shoki section is enhanced with large key visuals, design blueprints, and explanatory panels. This setup allows attendees to directly compare the armed pose with the astonishing level of detail revealed when the armor is fully deployed.
