Japanese toy brand AMUSE is back with the third installment of its "Nyantamascot Surprise" series. This quirky cat capsule toy, which previously sparked a social media frenzy, continues its delightful mission of transforming those two fluffy "meow balls" typically found behind a cat's rear into a portable charm. For this latest volume, AMUSE has given the feline faces a range of shocked expressions. The full collection features five unique designs, each retailing for 300 JPY (tax included), and launched on August 20, 2026.

The "Nyantamascot" series is all about celebrating that part of a cat that's usually not so convenient to touch. These round, fluffy spheres are soft and squishy, and each charm features a cat's face attached above the fluffy spheres, complete with a ball chain. They're perfect for a quick squeeze in your hand or for dangling from your bag as a fun accessory. This third wave introduces five new styles, including a jaded grey tabby with a "seen-it-all" expression, wide-eyed or open-mouthed startled tabby and black-and-white cats, and a pheasant tabby with its tongue playfully sticking out. AMUSE specifically themed this release around "surprise faces," and while the two fluffy "meow balls" are arguably the main attraction, the expressive cat faces above them are undeniably stealing the show.
