TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, has announced the upcoming commercialization of the new "Nu Gundam HWS & Display Parts Set" for its METAL ROBOT Damashii series. This expansion set is based on the mobile suit from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack" and features metallic paint finishes and die-cast internal frames. Further product details are expected to be revealed at a later date.
The FA-93HWS Nu Gundam HWS (Heavy Weapon System), designed by mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi, was conceived to counter the potential for a prolonged Second Neo Zeon War. This heavy weapon system was developed by referencing the Earth Federation Forces' "FSWS Project" (Full-armor System and Weapon System) mobile suits from the One Year War. It adds additional armor with built-in thrusters to the Nu Gundam's main body, providing both enhanced defense and high mobility. The system is further equipped with powerful armaments such as the Hyper Mega Rifle, the High-Mega Shield (which houses a mega particle cannon and large thrusters), and chest/shoulder missile launchers.
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii Nu Gundam HWS & Display Parts Set" is an expansion set designed for use with the separately sold "METAL ROBOT Damashii Nu Gundam" main unit. Official previews have revealed some of the product's design, showcasing various armaments and the heavily armored chest unit with deployable mechanisms. Also included is a display stand capable of holding weapons such as the shield, New Hyper Bazooka, and Fin Funnels.
