Disney has recently axed several Disney+ series projects. For instance, late last month, Marvel's "Wonder Man," which had already secured a second season renewal, was abruptly canceled due to "poor viewership." Following this, earlier this month, the new "Power Rangers" series, spearheaded by "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, also ceased development.

The latest project reported to be scrapped is the live-action "Gargoyles" series, an adaptation of the beloved animated show. Development for the series was first announced three years ago, with "It" franchise writer Gary Dauberman originally slated as showrunner and James Wan attached as producer. However, Greg Weisman, creator of the original animated series, has now revealed that Disney has abandoned the live-action "Gargoyles" adaptation.

In a recent interview with "Comics Online," Weisman stated that he was aware of the live-action project's status. He explained that Atomic Monster, James Wan's production company, had previously acquired the license to develop a live-action "Gargoyles" for Disney+, but that project is now "dead." While unsure about plans for an animated sequel, Weisman confirmed there are currently no live-action plans for the franchise.
