The identity of Lucia's actress in "Grand Theft Auto VI" was recently rumored to be officially unveiled, with top candidate Manni L. Perez reportedly confirming her role as the character's voice and performance artist via Instagram.

However, recent investigations reveal this claim originated from a fraudulent account impersonating Perez, which has since misled over 50,000 followers.
For a long time, players have speculated that Perez was the most likely candidate, citing her vocal and physical resemblance to Lucia, alongside her previous work on "GTA Online." However, Rockstar Games has yet to officially disclose the main cast for "GTA 6." Perez herself previously deactivated her original Instagram account after being inundated with harassing comments from players.

The account responsible for the misinformation, named "mannil.perez," is distinct from Perez's original, now-deactivated "mannilperez" handle. Foreign media investigations revealed the imposter account was established in 2020 and its username had been altered 16 times, suggesting an attempt to rebrand an older profile.
Further raising suspicions, the account's posts frequently contained what appeared to be AI-generated text and images. This included purported childhood and family photos of Perez, which were later identified as artificially generated content. Some character images were also found to be reused with only minor gesture alterations.

The fake account's posts, which included hints like "I am Lucia's voice," led some media outlets and players to mistakenly believe Perez had officially confirmed her role. However, Rockstar has not yet verified her involvement, meaning these claims remain purely player speculation.
"Grand Theft Auto VI" is slated for release in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
