Hong Kong-based model maker FLAME TOYS, known for its robot-themed die-cast action figure line "TETSUKIKAKU," announced the upcoming release of the series' protagonist mecha, "ZEGAPAIN Altair," at the 20th-anniversary screening event for the anime "ZEGAPAIN." Further details will be revealed at a later date!
Released by Sunrise in 2006, "ZEGAPAIN" is a robot anime set in a future where humanity faces mass extinction from an unknown virus called "Gorgon," leading to Earth's control by the "World Serpent." The surviving human consciousnesses are digitized, living in a virtual world within a quantum computer. Only a select few, known as "Guiders," are aware of their virtual existence and continuously fight the World Serpent to return humanity to the real world. The story follows high school student Kyo Sogoru, living in the virtual world, whose life begins to change after encountering the mysterious transfer student Shizuno Misaki, gradually uncovering the secrets of their world...
The "TETSUKIKAKU ZEGAPAIN Altair," unveiled at the "ZEGAPAIN" 20th-anniversary screening event, prominently features extensive clear parts. These, combined with internal lighting units, faithfully recreate the Altair's signature green glow from the original series, illuminating its head, chest, shoulders, arms, and legs. Also showcased were the detachable cockpit and the two pilot figures seated within!
