Kotobukiya, the renowned Japanese model kit manufacturer, has announced the latest addition to its popular "Megami Device" line of mecha girl plastic model kits: the "Yggdrasis Skoll Sharpshooter Tempest," slated for release in January 2027.
The all-new "Yggdrasis" character series is designed by illustrator Nidy-2D-, known for creating fan-favorite lines like the "ASRA series" and "Auv series." Shifting its theme from Japanese mythology, the "Yggdrasis" series draws inspiration from the gods and mythical creatures of Norse mythology, blending them with modern military equipment. The characters feature the highly flexible "Machineca Block2-M body" designed by Masaki Apsy, allowing them to capture the dynamic appeal of the original illustrations.
The second character in the lineup, "Yggdrasis Skoll Sharpshooter," is based on Sköll, the wolf from Norse mythology said to devour the sun. This unit specializes in ultra-high precision sniping, equipped with a "Bifrost AM81 Anti-Material Rifle." Her entire body is outfitted with composite defensive armaments that combine bulletproof functionality with thrusters. These shoulder-mounted thrusters enable short bursts of speed, large leaps, and mid-air hovering, allowing her to execute precise snipes while suspended in the air.
This new release, the "Yggdrasis Skoll Sharpshooter Tempest," is a modified version of the standard kit. It features a fresh look with new body molding colors, including white hair and brown skin (Skin Color E). The kit also includes three pre-painted face parts: a "smiling face," a "sparkling face," and a "glaring face." Furthermore, all her equipment, including the bulletproof vest, armor, thrusters, and weapons, have been completely revamped with sand-yellow camouflage molded colors, transforming her into a desert combat specialist.
Standing approximately 16 cm tall, the figure is built upon the Block2-M body. It meticulously recreates details such as the composite defensive armaments, an exposed midriff, a chest adorned with a bulletproof vest, a satellite auxiliary scope that can be attached to her noise-canceling headphones, and large shoulder armor housing built-in thrusters. Her arsenal includes the "AM81 Anti-Material Rifle" and a "BH-44M Handgun."
All armament parts are freely detachable, allowing collectors to display her in a sleek "Unarmed Mode" to appreciate her elegant physique, or in a formidable "Armed Mode" with a powerful silhouette. Both the anti-material rifle and handgun can also be disassembled, with parts like the barrel, bipod, and scope being interchangeable, offering various customization options. Coupled with the body's flexible and natural articulation, the kit allows for a wide range of dynamic combat poses, including signature jumps, mid-air sniping, and flip-shooting!
