Disney and 20th Century Studios have successfully rebooted "Percy Jackson & the Olympians" as a series, which has maintained steady viewership through its first two seasons, with a third currently in production. As the live-action adaptations of this franchise gain momentum, Disney is now setting its sights on other works by original author Rick Riordan, aiming to further expand the "Percy Jackson" universe.

According to an earlier report from Nexus Point News, Disney has secured the adaptation rights for "The Kane Chronicles," a spinoff series from the original "Percy Jackson" novels. 20th Century Studios' television division is already developing the series. These three-book rights were initially acquired by Netflix for a film adaptation, but the project never materialized. After the rights reverted to Riordan, he has now licensed them to Disney.
The upcoming "The Kane Chronicles" series will be co-written by Rick Riordan himself and Angela Robinson, a co-writer on "True Blood" and "How to Get Away with Murder." Casting details and a premiere date have not yet been announced.
