Bandai's GASHAPON division is rolling out a new series of capsule toys based on the hit anime and manga "Death Note"! Dubbed the "DEATH NOTE Munching Squad" (もぐもぐ隊), these figures will retail for 500 JPY per capsule and are slated for release in late December 2026.
"Death Note," created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, ran in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 2003 to 2006. The series later received an anime adaptation by MADHOUSE in 2006. It tells the thrilling story of genius high school student Light Yagami, who discovers a supernatural notebook capable of killing anyone whose name is written within its pages. He then embarks on a mission to purge criminals from the world, leading to an intense battle of wits with the brilliant detective L.
Now, the world of "Death Note" joins the adorable "Munching Squad" lineup, known for its characters caught in the act of enjoying their favorite snacks! The "DEATH NOTE Munching Squad" capsule toys stand approximately 4.5 cm tall and feature a charming two-head proportion, bringing beloved characters to life. The collection includes four fan-favorite characters: Light Yagami, Ryuk, L, and Misa Amane. Each figure captures them enthusiastically devouring various treats. Light Yagami is depicted with his signature potato chips, Ryuk with his beloved apple, and L with a slice of strawberry cake – all iconic items from the series. Misa Amane completes the set, hugging a giant macaron. These figures look incredibly cute when displayed together! It makes you wonder if Light's potato chip bag secretly contains a miniature LCD TV!
