BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division has unveiled the latest addition to its "S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou" series: an action figure of Gavan from the classic tokusatsu series "Space Sheriff Gavan". This premium line is celebrated for sculpting figures from the skeletal structure up, ensuring accurate in-show appearances and natural articulation for beloved tokusatsu heroes. The new Gavan figure is slated for release in February 2027!
First airing in 1982, "Space Sheriff Gavan" marked the inaugural entry in the iconic Space Sheriff series. The protagonist, Retsu Ichijouji, works undercover at the Avalon Riding Club on Earth, but is secretly a Space Sheriff in hiding. He transforms into Gavan via the "Vaporize" process. On Earth, he battles the interdimensional crime syndicate Makuu while searching for his missing father, the former Space Sheriff Voicer, gradually uncovering the vast secrets behind his father's disappearance.
The "S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Space Sheriff Gavan" stands approximately 14.5 cm tall. It meticulously recreates the futuristic and space-romantic silver battle suit design from the original series, featuring intricate black textures and button details across the body. Utilizing Shinkocchou Seihou's superior sculpting techniques, the figure perfectly captures the physique of the suit actor from the show. Its full range of articulation allows for dynamic posing. A special light-gathering head part is included; when swapped in, shining a light from behind the head can replicate Gavan's iconic glowing eyes! Gavan's signature weapon, the Laser Blade, is also included, with both a standard opaque version and a clear, light-absorbing version, allowing collectors to recreate Gavan's various stances within the Makuu Dimension!
