Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael De Santa in "Grand Theft Auto V", recently weighed in on the latest "Extended Look" for "Grand Theft Auto VI". He directly refuted claims that the upcoming title appears too similar to its predecessor, stating that anyone holding such a view is "out of their minds."

As Rockstar Games unveiled more "GTA 6" gameplay footage, some players questioned whether the mechanics for protagonists Jason and Lucia felt too close to "GTA 5". Luke addressed these concerns during a collaboration with YouTube channels Partychat and House of Highlights, remarking, "It doesn't look anything like 'GTA 5.' I think they're out of their minds."
He then humorously added, gesturing at Jason on screen, "I can tell you one thing, I never looked that good."
Luke highlighted character movement and intricate details as one of "GTA 6"'s most significant advancements. "Look at how these characters walk," he noted. "Those walks are how real people walk." In contrast, he pointed out that "GTA 5"'s character movements and stances, while impressive for their time, still retained a degree of mechanical stiffness.
He further emphasized that 13 years of technological progress cannot be ignored. "Technology has made a quantum leap," Luke stated. "This isn't to diminish previous titles; it's like the jump between 'GTA 5' and 'GTA 4.' Our visuals back then completely blew 'GTA 4' out of the water."
Luke also dismissed opinions suggesting "GTA 6"'s visual fidelity doesn't significantly surpass "Red Dead Redemption 2". He directly countered, "Sorry, folks, you're wrong. The graphics here are better than 'Red Dead Redemption 2.'"
"GTA 6" is currently slated for release on November 19, 2026. Rockstar Games has showcased a redesigned wanted system, side activities, and character interactions in its latest preview.
