The Canadian BL series "Heated Rivalry," which exploded in global popularity last year, has officially commenced filming for its second season. Crave, the Canadian streaming platform distributing the show, recently unveiled additional new cast members, including Kevin Zegers, Paul Gross, and Milla Jovovich. Jovovich's inclusion comes as the biggest surprise, marking a rare departure from her usual action-heavy roles into the realm of romantic drama.
Jovovich has long been synonymous with action films, establishing a distinct "action heroine" screen persona. Even after her iconic "Resident Evil" series concluded, she has remained active in action cinema, starring in films like the live-action "Monster Hunter" and "The Rookies." "Heated Rivalry" marks one of her rare forays into dramatic or romantic genres throughout her career.
"Heated Rivalry" also stands out as one of Jovovich's few television series roles, and it could even be her only series where she appears in more than one episode. Previously, Jovovich has only made single-episode guest appearances in TV shows, never as a regular cast member or supporting character.
