Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan has officially announced that "GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT", a new action game based on the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, is slated for release on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam® platforms on March 5, 2027. Alongside this announcement, details for the deluxe Collector's Edition have also been revealed.
Humanity experienced unprecedented prosperity and expanded its dominion across the entire solar system, thanks to the "Three Blessings"—gravity control, faster-than-light communication, and ideational materialization technology—obtained from an unidentified object that arrived from outside the solar system. However, this mysterious object suddenly went rogue, activating a self-proliferation system and spawning aggressive, silicon-based lifeforms. Humanity perceived this unknown ecosystem as the "Apocalypse." After three months of intense orbital combat, the battle lines remained stalemated, forcing humanity to abandon Earth and relocate to the Moon and space colonies. This pivotal year was recorded as A.A. (After Apocalypse) 1.
The completely new action game, "GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT," is part of the next-generation "RG Project" multimedia initiative. It shares the same universe as the new anime, "Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO," allowing players to experience the world approximately a century later, in A.A. 145. Players will embody RE-X, pilot of the Gundam Helix, and, alongside their Haro companion Vii, confront the threat posed by the silicon-based lifeform known as the Apocalypse. The game features a highly flexible customization system, enabling players to swap various weapon accessories and paint schemes for their Gundam, engaging in exhilarating, high-mobility combat.
The currently announced "GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT" Collector's Edition is available for PlayStation®5 and Steam® versions, with a suggested retail price of 15,840 JPY (tax included). The product includes the "GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT" game, five promotional "Gundam Card Game" cards, a steelbook case, an early purchase bonus of "early unlock mobile suit color Earth Blue," and the limited Gunpla kit, "HG 1/144 ARK-10 Gundam Helix (Earth Blue Ver.)."
The "HG 1/144 ARK-10 Gundam Helix (Earth Blue Ver.)" kit utilizes the same parts as the standard retail version. However, its original gray-white armor colors are replaced with blue, white, red, and yellow molded plastic, paying homage to the classic color scheme of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" protagonist machine, the "RX-78-2 Gundam." This model leverages BANDAI HOBBY's long-cultivated precision molding technology, recreating ultra-high-density mechanical details on its 1/144 scale parts. It faithfully expresses the game's realistic mechanical design and its heavy-duty weapon systems, while also featuring flexible articulation for dynamic posing with various armaments like rifles and greatswords.
