Rebecca Ferguson and Greta Lee, who recently appeared in Season 3 of Silo and the Netflix film The Last House, respectively, have repeatedly been photographed filming a new movie. The low-profile project had not been formally announced even after production began and only drew media attention once set photos surfaced. Now, as FilmNation prepares to launch worldwide sales at the Toronto International Film Festival market, further details have emerged—including the fact that MRC is financing and overseeing production, as well as the film’s title: Honeymoon / Funeral.

The project had previously been rumored to be a queer romantic comedy, and its newly released synopsis has now confirmed those reports. Lee and Ferguson play two women whose chance encounter on a flight from Los Angeles to London develops into a romance. One is traveling alone to what was supposed to be her honeymoon after being left at the altar by her girlfriend, while the other is returning home for her mother’s funeral. The pair ultimately spend a romantic week together.
The film is directed by Nahnatchka Khan, who created Fresh Off the Boat and co-created Dwayne Johnson’s autobiographical comedy series Young Rock. Julia Bicknell, whose writing credits include 13 Reasons Why, wrote the screenplay. No release date has been announced.
