As HBO's "Harry Potter" series prepares for its Season 1 premiere this Christmas, production for Season 2 is already well underway, with casting announcements steadily rolling out. Late last month, Kit Harington was confirmed to join the cast as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Gilderoy Lockhart. Today, HBO continued to reveal new additions, announcing the actors set to portray the next generation's Ginny Weasley, young Lord Voldemort (Tom Riddle), and the beloved house-elf Dobby.

The newly unveiled cast list introduces Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle, and Lenny Rush (pictured above) as Dobby. Notably, the role of Ginny has been recast. Child actor Gracie Cochrane was originally slated to play Ginny in Season 1, but after filming concluded, Cochrane stepped down from Season 2 due to personal reasons, prompting the production to seek a replacement.
Season 2 of "Harry Potter" received an early renewal in May of this year and is expected to commence filming this fall. The season will adapt the second book in the original series, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." Barring any unforeseen changes, the premiere date for Season 2 is anticipated to be during next year's Christmas season.
