MONDO, known for its poster designs and collectibles, isn't just stopping at the previously announced "Frost Armor He-Man & Fire Armor Skeletor." They've also unveiled another exciting new release from the early 2000s animated series "Masters of the Universe 200X" (MOTU200X): the "Disco Skeletor" Limited Edition 1/12 Scale Action Figure. Priced at $110, this figure will first be available at MOTUFest 2026, the annual Masters of the Universe fan event held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center from September 12-13, 2026. Following the convention, online pre-orders will open exclusively on the MONDO SHOP website on September 15 at 11:00 AM CT!
Disco Skeletor stands as one of the most infamous color variants in the entire Masters of the Universe toy line. Originally released by Mattel in 2003 as a transitional repaint within the MOTU200X series, its shockingly vibrant color scheme quickly earned it the fan-given nickname "Disco Skeletor." What started as a controversial look unexpectedly evolved into a beloved, classic meme-worthy palette among collectors.
Disco Skeletor previously made an appearance at Designer Con 2023 as part of the MOTUbi series, which blended Japanese sofubi aesthetics. Now, the iconic variant makes its triumphant return in the all-new MOTU200X line! Standing approximately 19 cm tall, this latest Disco Skeletor appears to utilize the sculpt from this year's "MOTU200X - Skeletor" figure, but with its signature color scheme. The main body faithfully recreates the classic look, featuring a purple torso and black limbs, specifically painted to give the illusion of clothing. His head boasts an orange-gold base with green spray-painted accents. The wrist guards, armor, loincloth, and weapon accessories are all molded in a striking gold plastic, meticulously recreating the classic Disco Skeletor aesthetic. The figure comes packed with three interchangeable head sculpts, two pairs of swap-out hands, his Havoc Staff, and a double-bladed sword that can separate into two individual blades, allowing for dynamic posing to capture this legendary variant in all its glory!
