Sebastian Stan, who recently returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in "Thunderbolts*", is set to reprise his role as Bucky / Winter Soldier later this year in "Avengers: Doomsday". However, his future appearances in the MCU beyond that are currently unknown. Stan himself, though, already has some ideas brewing.

In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Stan revealed that he previously pitched a low-budget, "Sicario"-style solo film for Bucky to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Stan recalled that he brought up the idea to Feige somewhat jokingly, but Feige reportedly liked it and thought it was cool.
Stan outlined the general premise for the film: "We keep a real small budget. It's about a guy who thinks he recognizes someone from his past that had something to do with when, you know, he was brainwashed, and he gets obsessed with this person. He goes on a whole journey to try to figure out who this person is. It's a thriller." While Stan didn't confirm if the concept would definitely be made, Feige's positive reaction suggests it might have a real chance of happening.
