Japanese gaming giant SEGA today announced three new collaboration projects with streaming platform Netflix. One of these projects is a live-action film adaptation of the racing game series "Crazy Taxi." The screenplay is confirmed to be penned by "The Naked Gun" writing duo Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. Neal H. Moritz, who previously produced SEGA's "Sonic the Hedgehog" live-action film series, will continue his role as producer for this movie.

Speaking of "Sonic the Hedgehog," the three collaboration projects also include a brand-new "Sonic the Hedgehog" animated series. This series is primarily aimed at preschool children, with characters designed to balance a touch of rebellious spirit to fulfill kids' aspirations for certain heroic archetypes. The final project is a live-action film based on the cross-generational action-adventure game "Stranger Than Heaven." SEGA and Netflix are developing this movie even though the game itself is not slated for release until January 15, 2027, with the film adaptation already in early stages of preparation.
