Zach Cregger, director of the new "Resident Evil" film, recently discussed his ideal casting choice for the popular character Lady Dimitrescu from "Resident Evil Village" if she were to appear on the big screen. Without hesitation, he named Christina Hendricks, known for her role in "Mad Men."
"I think Christina Hendricks would be a great fit for the Lady, don't you?" Cregger remarked. However, he emphasized that the towering vampire countess will not appear in the current "Resident Evil" film, as the new movie features an original story and will not directly include characters familiar to players from the game series.
Since her debut in 2021's "Resident Evil Village," Lady Dimitrescu quickly became a sensation, thanks to her unusually tall stature, vintage attire, and femme fatale allure. Her popularity not only spawned a plethora of fan creations, including adult fan works, but CAPCOM even released life-sized standees of the character for promotion. Although she has yet to make another appearance in the main series, her popularity remains high. The deluxe edition of the 2026 game "Resident Evil Requiem" even allows players to unlock a costume themed after her.
