“It’s Clobberin’ Time!”
Sideshow Collectibles has unveiled its latest Marvel Comics release: The Thing 1/4-scale collectible statue from the company’s Premium Format™ Figure line. Priced at $695, the Fantastic Four powerhouse is now available to preorder through Sideshow, with shipping estimated between April and August 2027.
Ben Grimm, better known as the Thing, made his debut in 1961’s Fantastic Four #1. After being exposed to cosmic rays alongside Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and Johnny Storm, Ben’s body transformed into a hulking mass of orange rock, granting him incredible strength and nearly impenetrable durability. Although his appearance remains a constant source of insecurity, Ben’s gentle heart and unwavering loyalty make him the team’s rock-solid shield.
Standing approximately 19.1 inches tall, 14 inches wide, and 18.3 inches deep (48.5 x 35.6 x 46.4 cm), this 1/4-scale statue captures the Thing charging across the wreckage of a Skrull spacecraft. Individually sculpted rock plates follow the contours of his muscular physique, with rough textures and tightly interlocking formations conveying his virtually indestructible presence. Realistic paintwork and intricate sculpting bring the shattered terrain to life, while purple tentacles from an unknown creature erupt around the base, recreating the kind of wild cosmic adventure the Fantastic Four know all too well.
