Up-and-coming Chinese figure maker LADoTOYS has opened preorders for the first release in its 1/12 Action Figure series based on the classic tokusatsu franchise "Ultraman" and its spin-off project, "Ultra Kaiju Humanization Project." The debut character, "Ancient Monster Gomora," is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2027.
"Ultra Kaiju Humanization Project" launched in 2013 as part of Tsuburaya Productions’ 50th-anniversary celebration. The project reimagined familiar kaiju from across the Ultra Series as monster girls at a pace of two new designs per month. It later expanded into manga, novels, anime, games, figures, and other media. Following the broadcast of "SSSS.GRIDMAN," kaiju from the Gridman franchise also joined the monster girl lineup.
In the anime adaptation, "Gomora/Kuroda Mikazuki" is a member of GIRLS and a rising star on the kaiju battle circuit. She is a cheerful, energetic, and charmingly airheaded girl who occasionally slips into a Kansai dialect. Her transformed design features a school swimsuit while retaining Gomora’s signature crescent-shaped horn, scaled claws covering her limbs, and a thick tail extending down from her back. The look blends the raw power of a kaiju with the cute, stylish appeal of a monster girl.
The "Ancient Monster Gomora" 1/12 Action Figure stands approximately 13.5 cm tall and recreates the illustration’s school-swimsuit monster girl design. Unlike the smoother artwork, the figure gives the kaiju skin a rough, textured finish. Butterfly joints in the shoulders allow for crossed-arm poses, while drop-down hip joints increase the legs’ range of motion. Specially engineered knee joints preserve the sculpt while still delivering a deep bend, and the multi-jointed tail can swing through a wide range of dynamic poses.
The figure will be offered in STD and DX editions. The STD Version includes the main figure, four face plates, and four pairs of interchangeable hands. Rather than matching the anime version of Kuroda Mikazuki’s bubbly personality, these expressions give Gomora a more boyish, tomboyish attitude, suggesting the design may have been reworked directly from the original illustration. The four face plates include smiling, playful, angry, and frightened expressions. Each features movable eyes that can be repositioned with the included adjustment tool. Building on that set, the DX Version adds a blushing face and several bonus accessories, including Gomora’s classic severed tail, a Super Oscillatory Wave effect, a charging horn for the attack, and a display stand printed with the series logo.
