Quentin Tarantino returns as screenwriter for "The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth," the sequel-spinoff to "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." Originally slated to arrive over the summer, the film was pushed back, but its promotional campaign is finally back in gear with the release of the official trailer.
Leonardo DiCaprio, who co-headlined the first film, was initially expected to make a cameo but ultimately declined to return. The trailer also offers a hilarious in-universe explanation for his absence: Brad Pitt's Cliff Booth reveals that DiCaprio's Rick Dalton gained so much weight that his longtime stunt double could no longer convincingly stand in for him, forcing the pair to part ways.

The cast brings back Brad Pitt and Timothy Olyphant from the original film, while Peter Weller, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, Elizabeth Debicki and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are among the newcomers joining the ensemble.

"The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth" reportedly carries a $200 million production budget, including a $20 million payday for Tarantino's screenplay. The story follows Rick Dalton's former stunt double, Cliff Booth, as he makes his own way through Hollywood and handles all kinds of trouble for the studios. The film will begin a two-week IMAX run on Nov. 25, followed by the Dec. 8 publication of Tarantino's expanded novelization, "The Adventures of Cliff Booth." It will then make its global Netflix debut on Dec. 23.
