Two years ago, DC Studios announced plans for "Dynamic Duo," a stop-motion animated feature centered on Batman’s Robin sidekicks and slated to hit theaters June 30, 2028. After two years in development, the movie’s voice cast has reportedly begun to emerge.
Entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider reported on his newsletter, "The InSneider," that "The Black Phone" breakout Mason Thames will voice Dick Grayson, the original Robin. "Ghostbusters" franchise star Logan Kim is set to play Jason Todd, the second Robin, while Marsai Martin will voice Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl. Lee Pace has reportedly been cast as the primary villain, Red Hood One.

Sneider described those castings as locked in. Other actors have reportedly received offers but have yet to formally sign on, including veteran star Steve Buscemi as Red Hood Two. Chris Pine, meanwhile, is said to be the top choice to voice Batman. DC Studios co-head James Gunn has previously said he wants actors who voice DCU characters to also portray them in live action whenever possible. However, it remains unclear which universe "Dynamic Duo" takes place in, leaving the door open on whether any of these actors could eventually reprise their roles in live action.

"Dynamic Duo" is written by Matthew Aldrich, co-writer of "Lightyear" and "Coco," with Swaybox Studios co-founder Arthur Mintz directing. The film will employ Swaybox’s Momo Animation technology, which blends CGI, stop-motion and live-action real-time performance to create strikingly lifelike visuals. The movie is billed as an origin story for Dick and Jason, following their friendship as deep differences in their beliefs put their bond to the ultimate test.
