Japanese toy company stasto, known for its popular capsule toy releases, is teaming up with original capsule toy brand Gray Melon for another delightfully bizarre creation: the "Hotdog Vampire Mejirushi Accessory." Priced at 300 yen per pull, the collection is scheduled to launch in January 2027.
Capsule toy artist Masami Iida founded Gray Melon in 2024 with a simple philosophy: take weird ideas seriously. The brand has since carved out its own identity with an absurd sense of humor and a growing lineup of wonderfully strange collectibles. This new release shrinks down Hotdog Vampire, the brand’s 2025 figure series combining tasty hot dogs with bloodthirsty vampires, and turns the designs into Mejirushi Accessories that can be attached to umbrellas for easy identification.
The Hotdog Vampire lineup features two core designs: a bread roll with a full body and a head-only hot dog bun. Each comes in vertical and horizontal versions, while a secret black-bun Hotdog Vampire with ketchup in its mouth rounds out the five-piece assortment. Despite their tiny size, the pieces recreate the golden-brown gradient of toasted bread crust, and the vampire buns chomping down on hot dogs look ridiculously cute with their ketchup accents. The horizontal hot dog bun and secret version also feature clasps on both ends, allowing collectors to connect multiple pieces with lobster clasps for an irresistibly adorable display.
