Japanese figure maker CCP JAPAN has opened preorders for a haunting new release in its MSS (Middle Size Series) Soft Vinyl lineup: Sadako from "The Ring" in the blood-soaked Cursed Blood Clear Ver. Priced at 5,280 yen including tax, the figure is scheduled for release in February 2027.
Sadako Yamamura remains one of Japanese horror’s most recognizable icons. Even collectors who have never seen the original film will know its unforgettable imagery: the cursed videotape, the well on the television screen, her flickering silhouette creeping ever closer, and that signature combination of long black hair and a white dress. Sadako has long since become a pop-culture phenomenon, even inspiring countless cute, anime-style makeovers in recent years. Like the ever-evolving curse at the heart of her story, her fame only continues to spread.
Standing approximately 5.1 inches tall, the MSS Sadako Cursed Blood Clear Ver. Soft Vinyl figure recreates her classic hunched, pigeon-toed stance and ominous curtain of hair, sculpted to look as though it could begin writhing at any moment. The translucent vinyl body is covered with sinister deep-crimson gradients along the hem of her dress, sleeves, fingertips, toes, and hair. Darkening almost to black, the thick coloration evokes the “blood and tears” Sadako shed while clawing at the walls of the well, tearing away her fingernails in the darkness. It also represents the curse’s bloodline as it spreads through copied tapes, infecting one victim after another and gradually consuming society. Despite its gruesome concept, the clear material catches the light with jewel-like brilliance, creating a piece that is equal parts horrifying and beautiful—and nearly impossible to look away from.
