Kotobukiya’s everyday schoolgirl model kit series "Sousai Shojo Teien," created in collaboration with illustrator En Morikura, is expanding with the new "KIRU PLA Kuon Yakushiji [Touou High School Uniform]" model kit, scheduled for release in April 2027.
A third-year student at Touou High School, Kuon Yakushiji may come across as a slightly absent-minded young lady, but she transforms into a brilliant actress capable of delivering masterful performances as soon as the cameras start rolling. Unfortunately, her constant preoccupation with acting, extreme tendency to follow her own pace, and poor communication skills often cost her roles at auditions. After entering the entertainment industry through an extracurricular activity, the formerly sheltered daughter of a prestigious family gained the opportunity to portray a wide range of characters. Her signature role is Maria Kagaribi, the heroine of the hit superhero series "Megalo Maria," played by Maria Kagaribi.
The "Sousai Shojo Teien KIRU PLA" line combines articulated plastic model bodies with real cloth outfits. Because the fabric clothing places far fewer restrictions on the joints, the body’s full range of articulation can shine, allowing for more dynamic poses than a standard kit. The model can also be dressed in separately sold outfits from the "Tiny Closet" series for even more display options.
This new Kuon Yakushiji [Touou High School Uniform] set includes a two-piece long-sleeve sailor uniform and panties made from stitched fabric. Each piece has been carefully tailored to the model’s proportions for a more natural appearance while posing. The body is based on the previously released Dress Up Body L, with a newly sculpted lower torso that removes the molded clothing details and comes cast in a flesh tone. The shape between the hips and thighs has also been adjusted, creating additional clearance for smoother leg movement and easier posing.
Kuon’s head uses parts from the standard release. The kit includes one shrine maiden-style ponytail and three pre-painted face parts: a smiling face, a winking-at-fans face, and an open-mouth smile. The body retains the line’s highly flexible joint system, making it easy to recreate a variety of elegant and adorable poses. Accessories include multiple PVC hand options, interchangeable legs with thigh-high socks, high socks, short socks, or no socks, plus interchangeable loafers, sock-covered feet, and bare feet.
