Japanese gold products brand SGC has unveiled a "K24 Gholdengo" collectible based on the Pokemon known for its Good as Gold Ability. Crafted from solid 24-karat gold, the piece weighs approximately 15 grams, stands around 6 cm tall, and is expected to retail for 1,540,000 yen. SGC is also showcasing life-size gold-leaf statues of Pikachu and Gholdengo at The Great Gold Exhibition. Both life-size pieces are display-only creations and will not be offered for general sale.
Gholdengo is a particularly fitting choice for the solid-gold treatment. As Pokemon No. 1000 in the National Pokédex, its body is formed from a massive collection of coins, and its signature Ability is appropriately named Good as Gold. Recreating the character in K24 gold brings the concept full circle.
The other major attractions are the two life-size gold-leaf statues. Pikachu is modeled after its official height of approximately 40 cm, reaching around 50 cm overall with its ears extended, and its surface is covered with roughly 200 sheets of gold leaf. Gholdengo stands approximately 120 cm tall and uses around 730 sheets. Both Pokemon already sport predominantly yellow color schemes, but these versions truly gleam from head to toe in gold.
