Disney began developing a soft-revival continuation of its beloved 1990s animated series "Darkwing Duck" six years ago, with plans for an all-new batch of episodes. Following that lengthy development process, the studio has finally handed the project a series order and unveiled a new voice cast taking over from the original ensemble.
The confirmed cast includes Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen, Lizzy Caplan, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Teo Briones, Katie Rich, Nat Faxon and Tiffany Shepis.

Hamill will voice the title hero, Darkwing Duck, while Caplan plays his adopted daughter, Gosalyn Mallard. Rogen is set to voice Darkwing's partner, Launchpad McQuack. In addition to starring in the series, Rogen will serve as an executive producer alongside his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg, with their Point Grey Pictures banner also producing.
The official synopsis reveals that Darkwing Duck has spent the past 35 years trapped in his ultimate nightmare: an alternate reality where no one has ever heard of his superhero adventures. His life changes when Duckie, a rebellious teenager who knows all about his heroic past, arrives and pushes the egotistical vigilante back into action. The unlikely duo must battle returning enemies including Negaduck and Megavolt, reunite with allies Launchpad, Gosalyn and Morgana, and save the entire universe.
