Chinese toy brand SexyIce has unveiled the Insect Series (VERMIN) Daedalus Project Experimental Subject B0200 Acridid, transforming a grasshopper into an approximately 7.1-inch-tall humanoid test subject. The figure comes with three interchangeable Mask Modes—A, B, and C—plus a massive arsenal featuring a shotgun, dual pistols, a submachine gun, grenades, paired scythes, and sickle swords. Priced at RMB 598, preorders are scheduled to open on September 29, 2026, with shipping expected in the first quarter of 2027.
B0200 retains the grasshopper's long antennae, compound eyes, and insect-like exoskeletal silhouette while reworking its body into humanoid proportions. Dense segmented detailing covers the limbs and torso, giving the figure the look of an insect soldier sent straight from the laboratory to the battlefield. Each of the three masks gives the head a distinct appearance, while the weapon loadout covers nearly every close-quarters and ranged-combat scenario. The arsenal includes an M12S pump-action shotgun, two M9 semi-automatic pistols, a K9K compact submachine gun, and two G40F fragmentation grenades. The Jack the Ripper melee weapon set adds two scythes and two sickle swords, while included holsters, magazines, and assorted mounting hardware allow the weapons to be carried directly on the figure.
SexyIce has also reinforced the figure's construction for hands-on posing. According to the company, the primary load-bearing areas use POK plastic components fitted around stainless-steel parts, while several smaller components are also made of stainless steel. Accessories such as the backpack attach using POK components and metal hooks. Fourteen interchangeable hands and a dedicated display stand round out the package, giving this heavily armed insect soldier plenty of options for dynamic combat poses.
