MEDICOM TOY is celebrating "Ultraman" with a new release from its MONSTER ART TOY (MAT) Soft Vinyl line: the Ultraman + Mini Shin Hayata (60th Anniversary Ver.) figure set. Priced at 25,000 yen, the set is scheduled for release in June 2027.
This 60th anniversary set pairs Ultraman with Shin Hayata, the Science Patrol officer with whom he merged. Both figures retain the distinctive construction of classic Showa-era monster vinyls while incorporating a more modern design sensibility, giving these iconic characters a fresh retro-style makeover. Ultraman stands approximately 9.4 inches tall and features compact, stylized proportions that preserve his imposing, almost divine presence. Fine details include the wrinkles around the suit’s arm joints and the sculpted dorsal fin, while the vivid paintwork brings out his signature red markings.
The Mini Shin Hayata figure stands approximately 4.7 inches tall, with facial features sculpted in a distinctly Showa-era style. His classic orange Science Patrol uniform has been faithfully recreated alongside standard equipment such as the Meteor Badge and Danger Detector. Hayata’s left hand is also sculpted gripping the Beta Capsule, leaving him ready to transform and defend Earth at a moment’s notice.
