To celebrate the 40th anniversary of "The Transformers: The Movie," Hong Kong toy company threezero is expanding its compact MDLX articulated figure line with two more movie-inspired releases following Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron. First up is the Fallen Coronation Starscream (1986 Movie Edition) articulated figure, priced at 19,120 yen and scheduled for release in Q4 2026.
In the 1986 animated feature "The Transformers: The Movie," the Decepticons retreat aboard Astrotrain after losing the battle at Autobot City. With too many passengers weighing down the ship, several wounded Decepticons have to be abandoned. Starscream seizes the opportunity to personally throw a critically damaged Megatron overboard, then declares himself the Decepticons’ new leader. His reign proves short-lived, however, when Megatron—reborn as Galvatron—crashes the coronation and destroys Starscream with a single blast in cannon mode.
Standing approximately 7.8 inches tall, Fallen Coronation Starscream (1986 Movie Edition) is a redeco of the Coronation Starscream figure released in 2025. Redesigned by threezero Art Director Kelvin Sau based on Starscream’s movie appearance, the figure blends intricate mechanical detailing with the character’s iconic silhouette. Its die-cast zinc alloy and engineering-grade plastic frame provides the stability needed for a wide range of dynamic poses.
The subdued paint scheme recreates Starscream’s appearance moments before Galvatron reduces him to ashes, with only the crown retaining its original colors. The wired fabric cape and shoulder pauldrons also feature desaturated colors matching the scene. Accessories include two interchangeable expressions, four pairs of interchangeable hands, a detachable winged backpack, two null-ray cannons, two blades, and Megatron in his classic pistol alt mode, allowing collectors to recreate the scene of Starscream wielding Megatron as a weapon.
