Kaiyodo has revealed the latest release in its popular Amazing Yamaguchi action figure line: Ryu Hayabusa Fierce Battle Ver. from the ninja action-adventure game "NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor's Edge." The figure is scheduled to go on sale through Kaiyodo-operated stores beginning October 3, 2026.
The solitary super ninja Ryu Hayabusa is the star of Koei Tecmo's NINJA GAIDEN games and has also made guest appearances across other franchises, including "Dead or Alive" and the "Warriors" series. As the modern-day heir to the ancient Hayabusa-style ninjutsu tradition and the last descendant of the Dragon Lineage, Ryu is destined to battle the forces of evil. Along with devastating ninpo techniques such as the Art of the Fire Wheel and Art of the Wind Blades, plus signature moves like the Izuna Drop, he is a master of the Dragon Sword, bows, staffs, kusarigama, and countless other weapons.
Amazing Yamaguchi NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor's Edge Ryu Hayabusa Fierce Battle Ver. reworks the previously released standard edition with extensive blood-spatter effects across the entire figure, capturing Ryu drenched in the blood of his enemies following a brutal fight. His right arm, corrupted by the Grip of Murder, now looks even more sinister, while an interchangeable bloodstained, uncorrupted right arm is also included. Classic weapons such as the Dragon Sword, Lunar Staff, and Eclipse Scythe receive matching blood effects, driving home the super ninja's lethal combat prowess.
Based on Ryu's appearance in "NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor's Edge," the figure was sculpted by renowned Kaiyodo artist Katsuhisa Yamaguchi. Standing approximately 6.7 inches tall, it faithfully recreates Ryu's muscular physique, high-tech black ninja suit, and metallic armor, with intricate surface detailing that distinguishes the metal and fabric textures. The Revoltech joint system, combined with specialized articulation in the scarf, shoulders, and lower legs, allows for a wide range of dynamic ninja poses. Articulated eyes let collectors adjust Ryu's gaze for a razor-sharp stare aimed directly at his next target.
The figure includes seven pairs of bloodstained interchangeable hands for recreating different scenes and combat poses. Its arsenal features the Dragon Sword, a bloodstained Dragon Sword, scabbard, bloodstained Lunar Staff, bloodstained Eclipse Scythe, and shuriken. Each weapon features finely sculpted ornamental details, layered metallic finishes, and blood-spatter paintwork. The Eclipse Scythe also retains its folding deployment mechanism.
