BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectibles division has teased a new release for its popular "S.H.Figuarts" action figure line based on the hit anime "One Piece". Full details on the new "3D2Y" series will be revealed on September 28!
"3D2Y" refers to the message Monkey D. Luffy sent his crewmates after the Summit War of Marineford. Luffy returned to Marineford and rang the Ox Bell in mourning, creating a media frenzy that landed him in the newspapers. His true purpose, however, was to show the markings on his arm and tell his friends that "the meetup isn't in three days (3D), but in two years (2Y)". Once the Straw Hat Pirates understood the message, each member began two years of intensive training before reuniting at the Sabaody Archipelago.
There are currently two leading possibilities for this "3D2Y" teaser. It could simply be a fully bandaged figure of Luffy as he appeared while ringing the bell, or the "new series" announcement could signal an entire lineup featuring the Straw Hat Pirates in their individual training-era looks. Either option has plenty of potential, so stay tuned as we continue to follow the latest updates!
