Kaiyodo has revealed the latest release in its popular articulated figure series, "Amazing Yamaguchi". Based on the ninja action-adventure game "NINJA GAIDEN 4," the new Yakumo action figure is scheduled for release in May 2027.
The new protagonist of "NINJA GAIDEN 4," Yakumo, hails from the Raven Clan, rivals of the Hayabusa Clan, and is a direct descendant of the ancient Dark Dragon. Though not yet 20 years old, he is an exceptionally gifted elite ninja whose abilities already approach those of a Super Ninja. Seeking to end the endless rain of miasma engulfing Tokyo, Yakumo sets out to assassinate Seori, the priestess of the Dark Dragon. After learning the truth from Seori, however, he instead embarks on a mission to break the Dark Dragon’s seal and destroy it once and for all. Standing in his way is none other than the series’ legendary hero, Ryu Hayabusa, now working alongside the mysterious paramilitary organization known as the Divine Dragon Order.
"Amazing Yamaguchi Yakumo" faithfully recreates the character’s appearance from "NINJA GAIDEN 4" at approximately 6.3 inches tall. His crow-inspired, near-future ninja suit features sharply sculpted armor, belts, and other intricate details, along with carefully rendered textures and finishes that distinguish its fabric, metal, and leather elements. The figure also incorporates an articulation system supervised by sculptor Katsuhisa Yamaguchi, allowing collectors to recreate dynamic, stylish combat poses without compromising the overall silhouette. Even the eyes are articulated, letting Yakumo lock his piercing gaze onto his enemies.
The extensive arsenal includes the twin-blade version of Cursed Blades: Takeminakata used in Base Form, its tachi configuration from Bloodraven Form, a tachi sheath, shuriken, kunai, a Black Scale Sheath, and five pairs of interchangeable hands. Swappable parts also recreate the black feather scarf and single black wing that appear when Yakumo enters Bloodraven Form. Customers who preorder through Kaiyodo’s directly operated stores and other designated retailers will also receive the hidden in-game weapon, the Dark Dragon Blade.
