Kotobukiya has announced the latest addition to its original Megalo Maria plastic model series: Emulator #1A, scheduled for release in March 2027.
Emulator is one of the most popular Another characters in the Megalo Maria lineup. While other Anothers feature distinctly inorganic designs, Emulator can imitate the appearance of a Trigger—a human—with armor covered in artificial skin and facial features that closely resemble those of the series’ human characters.
Emulator #1A updates the original release with two additional pre-painted face parts: a smiling face and an angry face. Previously included with “Emulator #2,” both expressions return in a newly revised color scheme matching Emulator. Each face also features movable eyes, allowing collectors to adjust the gaze of both eyes using the included tool. UV printing gives the eyes a glossy, glass-like finish.
The model combines graceful, humanlike proportions with impressive flexibility across approximately 50 points of articulation. Highlights include deeply bending single-axis knee joints, independently articulated knee armor, pull-out shoulder joints built around multiple articulation points, independently moving left and right hip joints, and palms that can bend inward nearly 180 degrees. The distinctive rear armor can also be assembled in either separate left-and-right sections or as a single piece. That extensive range supports everything from casual everyday poses to fluid, powerful action-movie stunts. Pair the model with the Samurai Master Sword to create stylish combat poses.
