During its recent 2026 special livestream dedicated to Sousai Shojo Teien × MEGALOMARIA UNLIMITED UNIVERSE, Japanese model kit maker Kotobukiya teased several upcoming releases for its "Sousai Shojo Teien" plastic model series. The company also offered an early look at several prototypes and in-development samples.
"Sousai Shojo Teien" is a line of 1/10-scale plastic model kits developed by Kotobukiya in collaboration with popular Japanese illustrator En Morikura. Built around ordinary yet distinctive high school girls, the series emphasizes five core elements: customization, painting, decoration, part swapping, and collecting. Beyond assembling the characters in their default designs, builders can mix and match hairstyles, facial expressions, base bodies, outfits, and other accessories to create their ideal original characters.
The latest reveals build on announcements first made during the line's fifth-anniversary celebration in March 2026. Leading the lineup is a new Chinese-style outfit for fan-favorite character Kuon Yakushiji. Its ultra-short design comes with plenty of wardrobe-malfunction potential, while the braided double-bun hairstyle gives Kuon a look that's both cute and sexy—a sharp contrast to the cold, composed persona she adopts in the role of Maria Kagaribi. The long-awaited Ritsuka Saeki [School Festival Maid Outfit] is also on the way, alongside a limited DREAMING STYLE edition featuring pink hair. In-development prototypes were also shown for new airsoft outfits for Koyomi Takanashi and Madoka Yuki.
