BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS division unveiled product images for two new S.H.Figuarts releases inspired by "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" on its official social media accounts on September 28: "Spider-Man 2099 -928 WARDEN OF THE MULTIVERSE-" and "Miles G. Morales -42 MILES ON THE PROWLER'S PATH-."
Both releases are repainted versions of the previously released "Spider-Man 2099" and "Miles G. Morales" figures. Their new color schemes appear to recreate the movie's dark, dramatic lighting near the end, while the updated names reference each character's home-universe designation and identity. Miles' English subtitle, "42 MILES ON THE PROWLER'S PATH," is particularly clever, playing on both Miles' name and the unit of distance, as well as "on the prowl" and Prowler. Based on the product images released so far, Miguel's body is now molded in a more subdued shade of blue, creating stronger contrast with the red sections, though it does not appear to feature additional painted shading. Prowler Miles, meanwhile, seems to have received glossy eye lenses on his mask. The original versions were both Tamashii Web Shop exclusives, and aftermarket prices are anything but collector-friendly. We do have one small wish: here's hoping the new-product teaser revealed on September 27 wasn't only teasing these two repaints of existing molds!
