Kaiyodo has teased the latest addition to its Revoltech action figure lineup: Katsuhisa Yamaguchi's highly articulated Amazing Yamaguchi series is bringing in "Ninja Slayer" with a new Ninja Slayer AoM Ver. figure. Additional details will be announced at a later date.
"Ninja Slayer" is a sci-fi novel series created by American writers Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez. Set in the neon-drenched, corporate-controlled near-future metropolis of Neo-Saitama, the story follows ordinary salaryman Fujikido Kenji. After ninjas murder his family, Fujikido becomes host to the mysterious ninja soul known as Naraku Ninja, transforming him into the vengeful Ninja Slayer. He sets out to hunt down ninjas, clashing with a deadly array of superhuman warriors along the way. This Ninja Slayer AoM Ver. is based on Part 4: Age of Mappor-Calypse, in which Masurada Kai inherits Naraku Ninja and becomes the new Ninja Slayer. His quest for revenge sends him in pursuit of the mysterious ninja who murdered his childhood friend, Ayumi.
Action figures based on "Ninja Slayer" have been few and far between. For nearly a decade, figma has essentially been the only option available to collectors. That makes the prospect of seeing Ninja Slayer reimagined with the Amazing Yamaguchi line's signature range of motion especially exciting.
