Nancy Meyers, the hit comedy filmmaker behind "The Intern" and "The Holiday," has spent years developing the big-budget romantic comedy known by the working title "Paris Paramount." The writer-director recently wrapped a four-month shoot in Los Angeles, but troubling reports about the production are now beginning to surface.
Puck reported that Meyers frequently lost her temper with crew members and shouted at people on set, prompting multiple complaints. Entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider also weighed in on X:

The ballooning budget should come as little surprise. Meyers, pictured below, had long envisioned the movie as a roughly $150 million studio production—an unprecedented price tag for a romantic comedy. She initially sought financing from Netflix, but the streamer was reportedly unwilling to go beyond $130 million. Meyers refused to scale back her plans, ending the partnership and eventually taking the project to Warner Bros. Pictures.

The "Paris Paramount" ensemble includes Owen Wilson, Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Tony Hale, Beverly D’Angelo, Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and Apple Martin—the daughter of Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin—pictured at right below. The film is scheduled to open on December 25, 2027.

The movie reportedly follows a young filmmaker and a producer who fall in love while making several films together, only to end both their romantic and creative partnership. Years later, a new project forces them to reunite, confronting the enormous risks of the production while trying to manage a group of volatile movie stars. The rumored premise appears to echo elements of Meyers’ own life. She shared a long-running personal and professional partnership with fellow filmmaker Charles Shyer, but the two never worked together again after their 1999 divorce.
