Since 2013, David Fincher—the acclaimed filmmaker behind classics including "Fight Club" and "Gone Girl"—has made Netflix a major focus of his career. He produced fan-favorite series including "House of Cards," "Mindhunter" and "Love, Death & Robots," while his films "Mank" and "The Killer" were also released exclusively by the streamer.

Now, however, the filmmaker's 13-year partnership with Netflix appears to be nearing its end. Bloomberg reports that Fincher has decided not to renew his deal with the company when their current exclusive agreement expires next year. The outlet did not specify why Fincher chose to walk away, and it remains unclear whether the multiple projects he has in development at Netflix will be scrapped. For now, his only confirmed upcoming project for the streamer is the "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" follow-up "The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth", which arrives this December.
