Chiikawa has enjoyed enormous popularity for years, and the franchise has only gained more momentum following the release of its first theatrical film, Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island. The movie has drawn more than 10 million admissions and climbed Japan’s all-time box-office rankings. Amid this ongoing craze, the “Chiikawa Bakery” in the Harajuku-Omotesando area is preparing to celebrate its second anniversary.
The bakery has been a popular destination for fans since opening in 2024 and will officially turn two on October 29, 2026. To thank visitors for their support, the “Chiikawa Bakery 2nd Anniversary Celebration” will begin on October 15, featuring a new collection of commemorative merchandise and special in-store promotions.

The highlight of the new collection is the “Cornet Mascot” series, which transforms Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi, and their friends into adorable cornet-shaped pastries. The eight-character lineup also includes Kurimanju, Shisa, Momonga, Furuhonya, and Rakko. Other anniversary items include a tin of rooibos tea, long-sleeve T-shirts, a knitted cardigan, and a bandana—perfect for bringing a little Chiikawa cuteness into the cooler autumn season.

① Customers who spend at least 3,300 yen, including tax, will receive one exclusive second-anniversary matte pin badge per transaction.
② Customers will receive one exclusive second-anniversary coaster with every takeaway drink purchased. The regular random drink coaster, available in 12 designs, will also be included.
A practical medium-size lunch box will also be released as part of the anniversary celebration, priced at 1,540 yen including tax. It will be available as an additional purchase for customers buying bread at the counter, excluding the Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi loaves. The lunch box is scheduled to go on sale on October 29.

The Chiikawa Bakery POP UP SHOP at Laforet Harajuku will also feature a special “Chiikawa Bakery PHOTOBOOTH,” giving visitors a chance to take commemorative photos. The booth will begin operating on October 6, and visitors will be able to download digital copies of their pictures afterward.
