Kotobukiya has revealed the latest addition to its original Megalo Maria model kit series. The new Airly kit is scheduled for release in February 2027.
Airly is the third character in the compact-body range within Megalo Maria. Like the previously released “STARS,” she can be built in two distinct styles: the more humanlike Naked Form or the uncanny, puppet-inspired Masquerade Form. Her gymnast-leotard-inspired design highlights the sculpted curves of her thighs, hips, and physique. With the weapon count kept to a minimum, Airly instead focuses on expressive physical combat inspired by gymnastics, kung fu, acrobatics, and dance.
The kit uses an extensive selection of newly designed parts to recreate Airly’s adorable twin-bun hairstyle, sleeve-like machine-gun weapons on both arms, and shapely legs. Two sets of hair, face, and body parts are included, allowing builders to freely choose between Naked Form and Masquerade Form. The Naked Form face features movable eyes that can be adjusted independently with the included tool. UV printing gives the eye parts a glossy, glass-eye-like finish.
Despite standing only 5.5 inches tall, Airly features more than 60 points of articulation. Double ball joints at the base of each twin tail allow the hair to swing naturally in multiple directions as the body moves. Thanks to the figure’s minimal armor, the highly flexible body can pull off powerful flying kicks, full splits, scorpion poses, and classic moves straight out of kung fu movies and fighting games. Fan-shaped effect parts are also included and can be attached to the arms while they are bent backward 180 degrees, creating elegant fan-dance poses.
