BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS collectibles division has announced the latest release in its popular "S.H.Figuarts" action figure line: "Ultraman Max" from the live-action series "Ultraman Max." The figure is scheduled to launch in April 2027.
Ultraman Max is a warrior from Nebula M78. At 7,800 years old, he is considered relatively young among the Ultra Heroes, but his power and speed rank among the very best. His arsenal includes devastating beam attacks and weapons such as the Maxium Cannon and Maxium Sword. After obtaining the Max Galaxy midway through the series, he gains access to the even more powerful Galaxy Cannon and Galaxy Sword. Max originally came to Earth as a civilization monitor, observing humanity’s development under a strict policy of noninterference. However, after witnessing the young Kaito Toma risk his life in battle, Max was moved by his courage and merged with him, joining humanity’s fight against the monsters and aliens threatening Earth.
"S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Max" stands approximately 5.9 inches tall and was developed with supervision from LSS, the sculpting department at Tsuburaya Productions. The figure faithfully recreates Max’s Red Tribe-inspired body markings, the Max Spark on his left arm, and the Ultraseven-inspired patterns on his head. Metallic gold and silver paint gives the chest and shoulder armor a striking finish. His eyes feature a layered construction of translucent yellow and silver parts, capturing the polygonal shape and small black center details seen on the original suit.
The figure features carefully engineered articulation designed to preserve the character’s clean silhouette. The shoulder armor uses separate floating pieces to avoid restricting the shoulder joints, while pull-out mechanisms in the waist, legs, and wrists expand the range of motion. This allows collectors to naturally recreate Max’s running poses, signature noble stance, and other memorable moves from the series. Accessories include a red Power Timer, Maxium Sword, Maxium Cannon effect part, a wrist part with the Max Galaxy equipped, and five pairs of interchangeable hands. There is even enough flexibility to recreate the hilarious moment from Episode 16 when an amnesiac Max forgets how to fire his beam attack.
