Bandai’s official Chinese social media account announced a new limited-edition Gunpla for the upcoming Double 11 shopping festival: the MG 1/100 Testament Gundam [Silver Gleam Color Ver.]. Preorders were scheduled to open through Bandai’s official Tmall flagship store at 8:00 p.m. on October 20.
First appearing in "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Astray," the ZGMF-X12A Testament Gundam takes its name from the “covenant between God and humanity.” This prototype mobile suit was developed by ZAFT to test technologies including the Neutron Jammer Canceller and Striker Pack System. It also features Variable Phase Shift Armor, which can increase its physical resilience by adjusting the applied voltage. Its equipment includes the Trikeros Kai offensive shield system, the transforming Divine Striker flight unit, and the stealth- and jamming-capable Quantum Computer Virus Transmission System.
Based on the display images released so far, the MG 1/100 Testament Gundam [Silver Gleam Color Ver.] uses the original release as its foundation. The red color scheme associated with its activated VPS Armor has been replaced by a subdued combination of plated silver, gunmetal gray, and black. The kit retains the original model’s extensive equipment and display options, including the Trikeros Kai and Divine Striker. Since the standard kit was already a Premium Bandai exclusive, this metallic limited edition should carry plenty of collector appeal. Testament Gundam fans may want to keep this striking variant on their radar.
