BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS Collectors Division has unveiled the latest addition to its METAL ROBOT SPIRITS line, which combines metallic finishes with die-cast inner frames. Based on "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans," the new GUNDAM VIDAR [Re:Coordinate] is priced at 19,800 yen, including tax, and is scheduled for release in March 2027.
ASW-G-XX Gundam Vidar appeared during the second season of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" and was piloted by Gaelio Bauduin, who concealed his identity behind a mask and adopted the name Vidar. Beneath its extensive disguise armor, the mobile suit was actually the Gundam Kimaris Trooper. Gaelio finally discarded the disguise ahead of his decisive battle with McGillis Fareed, returning to the battlefield in the form of Gundam Kimaris Vidar.
Based on the original release, this updated edition completely revises the molded colors, paint applications, and markings across the entire figure. Its main blue color is less saturated than before, bringing it closer to the official animation design, while the darker sections now feature more extensive metallic paintwork. Particle-infused plastic gives the eye-glow effect parts a brighter, sharper appearance. The rear reactor’s color scheme has also been adjusted, while most of the red tampo-printed trim has been removed and replaced with white warning markings. The markings on the chest, shoulders, and upper arms have been redesigned as well, with additional details added throughout the lower body.
The weapon loadout remains largely unchanged from the original release, including six Burst Sabers, one 110mm Vidar Rifle, two Handguns, and three differently shaped blade antennas with eye-glow effect parts. The Burst Sabers are molded in silver plastic with fine metallic particles, giving them a satisfyingly weighty finish. The tampo patterns on the Handguns and 110mm Vidar Rifle have also been revised. Pair everything with the dedicated display stand to recreate Gundam Vidar’s most striking action poses.
