TOYRISE Future GPX Cyber Formula Transforming Asurada G.S.X Prototype Debuts With a Transformers-Style Robot Mode

TAKARA TOMY's T-SPARK premium hobby label unveiled a prototype from its robot-focused, fully assembled "TOYRISE" collectible line at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show on October 2. Based on the classic anime "Future GPX Cyber Formula," the new "Transforming Asurada G.S.X (Tentative)" does not yet have a release date.

The Asurada G.S.X is a race car built by Missing Link to test "Asurada," an AI navigation system developed by Hiroyuki Kazami. After being delivered to the Sugo racing team, the machine was upgraded with a three-stage transformation system that allowed it to tackle multiple types of terrain. Its lightweight, high-strength body combines carbon fiber-reinforced polymer with titanium alloy, while its hydrogen-powered V10 produces up to 1,200 horsepower. The car can complete a 0–400-meter sprint in just 7.85 seconds plus alpha and reach a top speed of 420 km/h plus alpha. However, the vehicle was hijacked in transit, unexpectedly making protagonist Hayato Kazami the only driver recognized by Asurada—and launching the pair on their legendary racing career.

Created to celebrate the 35th anniversary of "Future GPX Cyber Formula," the "Transforming Asurada G.S.X (Tentative)" faithfully recreates the original machine's sleek silhouette and articulated rear wing. More surprisingly, the vehicle also conceals a complete robot transformation mechanism. Drawing on TAKARA TOMY's decades of Transformers toy engineering, the outer body panels split apart as an internal frame unfolds into a humanoid robot. Its head even recreates the distinctive face of Asurada, the advanced AI navigation system housed inside the vehicle.
