Japanese model maker Kaiyodo announced a new release based on the movie "Godzilla: Final Wars" through its official social media account on October 2. Gigan (2004) Re:Imagination is officially joining the company’s ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS plastic model lineup!
Returning in the 2004 movie "Godzilla: Final Wars," Gigan is a cybernetically enhanced monster controlled by the Xiliens. Renowned creature designer Yasushi Nirasawa reimagined the kaiju with a sleek, sinister biomechanical aesthetic. Its original form features steel claws on both arms and a buzzsaw embedded in its chest. After Godzilla decapitates it, Gigan returns in an upgraded form armed with a pair of massive chainsaws!
Based on the newly revealed gray prototype render, the model appears to recreate Gigan’s arrival in Antarctica and its showdown with the recently awakened Godzilla. Acclaimed creature sculptor Shinobu Matsumura created the original sculpt, delivering a fresh interpretation of the 2004 design’s distinct and intimidating silhouette. The kit will also feature an all-new multicolor molding system. Kaiyodo additionally announced that “Burning Godzilla Re:Imagination” and “Hedorah Re:Imagination” will receive multicolor plastic model kits of their own. There is plenty for kaiju model fans to look forward to!
