Good Smile Company’s mecha-focused MECHA SMILE brand has unveiled the latest release in its THE GATTAI series of fully assembled combining toys: Duke Fire from the anime "Brave Police J-Decker." The figure is scheduled for release in September 2027.
Knight Detective Duke is an ambulance-type Brave robot jointly developed by the United Kingdom and Japan, with the chivalrous personality of a proper British gentleman. In addition to transforming from ambulance mode into robot mode for battle, Duke can combine with the massive fire engine support mecha Fire Roader to form the giant robot Duke Fire, equipped for combat, rescue operations, and firefighting.
THE GATTAI Duke Fire includes Knight Detective Duke, the Fire Roader support mecha, and a substantial selection of accessories. Standing approximately 13 centimeters tall, Duke transforms completely between ambulance and robot modes without interchangeable parts. The set also includes multiple optional hands, including hands for holding his handgun and police ID, along with his signature double-bladed longsword, allowing Duke to strike a wide variety of action poses on his own.
Fire Roader features an extending ladder and a storage and mounting system for the Fire Buster. It combines with Duke without interchangeable parts to form Duke Fire, standing approximately 25 centimeters tall. Articulated joints throughout the figure provide an impressive range of motion, while the Fire Sword, transforming handgun, and rifle-mode Fire Buster let collectors recreate Duke Fire’s signature battle poses and finishing attacks.
The set is also compatible with the separately sold “THE GATTAI J-Decker,” allowing both figures to combine into the powered-up Fire J-Decker form, which stands approximately 29.5 centimeters tall. A complete set of proportion-focused parts is also included, replacing the oversized drill, claw, arm armor, and even the fully transformable Duke unit to achieve a sleeker silhouette closer to the anime design. Swap the Fire Sword’s standard blade for the included flame-effect blade to recreate the Burning Fire Sword finishing move.
