GUNDAM TRAJECTORY OF THE OTHER RAIL HG CALICE and BAU BAHLAM Gunpla Prototypes Reveal Incredible Detail

BANDAI SPIRITS unveiled prototypes of two new Gunpla kits from the upcoming action game "GUNDAM TRAJECTORY OF THE OTHER RAIL" at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show. The BANDAI HOBBY releases, "HG 1/144 CALICE" and "HG 1/144 BAU BAHLAM," are scheduled to launch in February 2027.

Humanity entered an age of unprecedented prosperity after an Autonomous Interstellar Object arriving from beyond the solar system delivered three revelations: Gravity Control, FTL Communication, and Cognitive Materialization. These breakthroughs allowed civilization to spread across the entire solar system. Without warning, however, the Object ran rampant, activating a self-replication system and spawning highly aggressive silicon-based life-forms. Humanity came to know this mysterious ecosystem as the "Apocalypse." After three months of fighting reached a stalemate in Earth’s orbit, humanity was forced to abandon the planet and relocate to the Moon and space colonies. That year was recorded as A.A. 1—the first year After Apocalypse.

The all-new action game "GUNDAM TRAJECTORY OF THE OTHER RAIL" is part of the next-generation Gundam initiative known as the "RG project" and shares its universe with the upcoming anime "Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO". Set roughly a century after the anime in A.A. 145, the game puts players in the role of RE-X, pilot of the GUNDAM HELIX, as he and his Haro partner Vee confront the threat posed by the Apocalypse. A highly flexible customization system lets players swap out weapons, equipment, and color schemes before taking their Gundam into fast-paced, high-mobility combat.

The two newly revealed mobile suits each bring a very different silhouette to the battlefield. CALICE carries an enormous lance-style weapon and appears clad in silver-white armor, while the sand-yellow BAU BAHLAM wields a massive chainsaw weapon and features bold red shoulder armor. Unlike the protagonist’s GUNDAM HELIX, both machines lean heavily into classic Zeon-inspired design cues, including mono-eye cameras, blade antennas, and rounded armor profiles.

Both the in-development CG models and the prototypes displayed at the show reveal impressively dense surface detail molded across multiple colors. Thruster nozzles, heat vents, armor panel lines, and exposed piping have all been recreated at HG’s compact 1/144 scale, capturing the game’s distinctive mechanical aesthetic. Naturally, the parts separation is not as intricate as an RG kit, so builders will need extensive color correction—or a full paint job—to match the CG renders.
