Bandai’s candy toy division, BANDAI CANDY, unveiled a prototype of the latest SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT release from the anime "Chōdenji Robo COM-BATTLER V" at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show on October 2. The upcoming "COM-BATTLER V6 50th Legacy Ver." is still in development, with its release date yet to be announced.

"COM-BATTLER V6" first appeared in Yuichi Hasegawa’s manga "Super Electromagnetic Wars Victory Five." The new sixth machine, Battle Armor, separates into multiple armor components that magnetically attach across COM-BATTLER V, creating the more powerful six-machine combined form known as COM-BATTLER V6. To celebrate the anime’s 50th anniversary, Bandai and Toei Animation teamed up to bring this long-awaited design into physical form. Mecha designer Junichi Akutsu was brought aboard to refine the robot with updated proportions and contemporary mechanical detailing, resulting in both the previously announced Soul of Chogokin version and this SMP model kit.
This marks the first public display of "SMP COM-BATTLER V6 50th Legacy Ver." in its fully combined robot mode. The prototype features a sharper, more aggressive head sculpt, dense mechanical detailing across the body, pull-out shoulder joints, and double-jointed elbows for an expanded range of articulation. The blade-like add-on armor mounted on both forearms also appears to feature movable components, allowing the model to recreate COM-BATTLER V6’s upgraded Super Electromagnetic Spin. Bandai has yet to reveal the full selection of weapons and accessories for its classic attacks, leaving collectors to speculate about what will make the final set.
